On Tuesday, July 9, 2019, Trinity Kids lost our beloved friend and inspiration behind the start of Royal Family Kids Camp in North Central Texas. David was also the GroupLife and Pastoral Care pastor for Fielder Church in Arlington, Texas. David served on the Fielder staff for many years, and he will be missed by everyone whose life he touched with his warmth, gracious service, friendship, leadership and godly character.

David was a major Texas Longhorns fan and finished his Master Degree in Religious Education at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. David introduced Royal Family Kids Camp to Fielder Church in 1997 and coordinated the launch of our first camp (RFKC #47) in June 1998. David started the first golf tournament fundraiser for Trinity Kids which was later relaunched as Links Fore Kids.

David served as the Manager-Texas & Louisiana for six years with Samaritan's Purse. He implemented and managed domestic and international ministry outreach for humanitarian and relief projects. He coordinated and managed an annual collection center with thousands of volunteers processing over a million OCC shoeboxes for distribution to children around the world.

David  was a longtime member of the Texas Association of Sports Officials-Football (Fort Worth Chapter) and could be found on the sidelines of the Dallas Cowboys games in Arlington. David was an avid golfer and served on the Links Fore Kids tournament committee to help create a successful event each year.

David will be greatly missed by all and we are thankful for his leadership and friendship!

Shelia J. Prellwitz (1951-2014)

Trinity Kids lost one of our most faithful volunteers in 2014.  Shelia Prellwitz devoted her life to serving children every day of the year. Monday thru Friday, Shelia could be found at one of several Children’s Courtyards in the DFW area.  As director, she not only oversaw the safety of the children, but provided love and moral support to any parent who needed a little guidance or encouragement.  On Sundays, she could be found in the Children’s Ministry at Fielder Church, where she served faithfully for many years.  Being a wife, mother and grandmother were by far the highlight of her life.

Shelia not only spent her weekdays and weekends with children and family, but she chose to spend her vacation with them.  For the past 17 years, Shelia had faithfully served Trinity Kids by participating at our Royal Family KIDS camp.  She served as a camp guide to two little girls at each camp for several years and then stepped up to serve as the Dean of Women.  She helped the camp guides navigate the hot summer days with all the emotions that can be experienced at camp.  And she did it with humility, graciousness, kindness, empathy, and calmness with God’s guidance through His Word.

Shelia was part of the vision to reach more children when Trinity Kids, Inc. was founded in 2002 and served faithfully as a board member since its inception.

On July 28, 2014, Shelia passed away suddenly just a few days after coming back from serving a week at camp.  We are all saddened by the loss of such a dedicated friend and volunteer.  In memory, the board of directors for Trinity Kids voted to honor Shelia by renaming the Week at Camp Scholarship to the Shelia Prellwitz Camp Scholarship.

Shelia faithfully loved and supported each person who crossed her path.  She followed God’s will for her life and believed Royal Family KIDS camp and Trinity Kids were a place God had called her to serve.  She is truly part of the HEART of Trinity Kids.
